It’s that time of the term again…
Yup, the last few weeks of term. I have two really big projects and a final exam. I suppose you could consider me MIA until after May 17th. I’m also going to be making a video poem around body and spirit for class, so I get to work on my filmmaking skills. (I’ll post it to YouTube after I turn it in.)
I have been updating my craft blog with the spinning and crochet projects I’ve been doing to keep me sane. I’ll tell you, though, my spinning wheel has been a god-send! I think it’s what has helped to keep me from going bonkers like the end of last term.
Speaking of spinning, yesterday was an interesting day. I finished spinning all the angora rabbit fiber from the rabbit I actually owned for a few months. It’s kind of bittersweet, actually. It’s the last bit of “business” from my former coven that is now finished. I didn’t expect it to happen as quickly as it did, but the fiber is all spun up waiting to be dyed and turned into beautiful handfasting gloves for my friend Denise.
It’s a very good and happy ending to a very chaotic and stressful time in my life. It’s also a letting go, I think. It seems fitting, too, as this seems to be a very creative, life changing time for me.
I’m making beauty out of interesting things. I really like this.
It’s also shaping my ministry and pulling my call in a different direction than what I thought when I started at PSR.
I think I like that, too. It’s different, and amazing, and wonderful. The Gods and Jesus are leading me places I’ve only dreamed I’d go.
I think I like it.
I’m also going to go on a silent retreat this summer. Jesus and I need some serious quality time together to sort things out. I’m not sure exactly where yet. It will be nice, though, to have that time.
But, that’s after the term is done. Now, I have to get back to my homework.
See you when things settle back down!
